Two Women, Two Voices, 1 Mission.
Since the inception of BBB in 2020, founders Kaydee & Empress have designed and implemented culturally specific youth programming for Black girls while navigating essential dialogue for Black women, creating space for us.
Brown But BLACK is the incubator for ‘A Conversation of Elevation’ and meaningful connections that inform its culturally responsive youth mentorship, Black woman-centered book club, and dedication to building healthy self-esteem within an empowered sisterhood.
As this community continues to grow, its mission remains to cultivate enriching environments and sustainable practices that support the autonomy, sisterhood, and wellbeing of Black girls and women.
“ In a world where the identity of Black women is rooted in a finite expression, incentivized by racism and patriarchy, we must understand the effects of this reality.
Furthermore, we must reclaim our humanity, by encouraging the expression of our most authentic selves.
We must gather, celebrate, and acknowledge our preordained magic that is our womanhood, doused in Blackness.“
